The topic of the paper is – Crisis of the 21st century America: Can Rousseau’s ideas of just society save America from itself?
The professor want us to look at the crises of the modern American society and how those crises show the weakness of the modern American society then, using Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s approach/his ideas about the society, can those ideas be applied today and which ones to make the modern American society more just
The topic is is broad, correct and thus it requires you to narrow it down.
You pick a specific angle through which to look at the society whether the crisis is immigration, public health, education, criminal justice. etc. Then you need to identify the problem in the American society today and apply Rousseau’s ideas to help with that problem.
