The topic of the paper is – Crisis of the 21st century America: Can Rousseau’s ideas of just society save America from itself?   

The professor want us to look at the crises of the modern American society and how those crises show the weakness of the modern American society then, using Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s approach/his ideas about the society, can those ideas be applied today and which ones to make the modern American society more just 

The topic is is broad, correct and thus it requires you to narrow it down. 

You pick a specific angle through which to look at the society whether the crisis is immigration, public health, education, criminal justice. etc. Then you need to identify the problem in the American society today and apply Rousseau’s ideas to help with that problem. 

Please read these instructions carefully.  The professor do not require any specific format, but please keep in mind the following instructions:

1. minimum of 2500 words 

2. citations need not follow any specific rule, basic citation will suffice. for example, Solomon and Murphy, What is Justice, page 26.

3. while you do not need to format citations specifically, I DO require you to cite any source you used. Thus, if you quote or borrow an idea or anything from another source, please cite it. 

Organization should follow the basic outline: Issue presented (tell us what you are writing about and give the reader a short intro), Argument supporting your thesis, Conclusion (must flow from your argument and be supported by it). Organization is very, very important and a significant portion of the grade is based on this.
