For this assignment you will consider the meaning of justice and social justice. Locate a minimum of three academic articles that discuss issues of justice in different ways. Reflect on how justice has been conceptualized and what justice means to you. In the paper you should review different ways of thinking about justice – and reflect on which conceptualization of justice you feel is best represented in our criminal justice system. The paper should show knowledge of literature on justice – and critical thought on the extent to which the Canadian Criminal Justice system delivers or ensures justice. You can also use recent news stories about criminal cases to illustrate your points. Papers should be 4-5 double spaced pages (plus a reference page and title page). The goal of the assignment is to show that you have grappled with the concept of justice and reflected on the extent to which the CJS reflects a just process/outcome/policy. Be creative and show critical thought.
